Born in Haynesville, Louisiana, Pastor Jerry Hatter eventually went to receive his education from   Grambling State University (B.S.) for Accounting, University of  Detroit (MBA) for Management and Ashland Theological Seminary (M.A.) for Biblical Studies. Accepting God’s call to ministry in 1986, he was ordained as a itinerant minister Deacon and Associate Minister in subsequent years with Oak Grove A.M.E. Church in Detroit.  He moved on to full-time ministry in 1991 after a 23 year career with Ford Motor Company in Finance and Accounting. Since August 1991, Jerry has been the proud  Pastor of Brown Chapel AME Church in Ypsilanti. Pastor Hatter is actively engaged in the community holding membership in various organizations and boards, including Hope Clinic, Turner Geriatric Advisory Board, WCSO Ministerial Advisory Team and Southeastern Michigan A.M.E. Minister’s Alliance. Pastor Hatter is the father of five children; four daughters and one son.
